I transmit to you herewith a copy of a letter
and enclosures from Mr. G. Stewart M.P. to Lord R.
Cecil relative to the visiting of British ships by
German Officials in the Chinese Customs Service.
I have no doubt that this matter has not escaped
the notice of the Inspector General of the Customs and
that he has already taken such measures as are possible
to minimise any inconvenience or unpleasantness arising
from this source.
You may, of course, mention the matter to Mr.Aglen
if you consider that it would serve any useful purpose
to do so.
I am &c.
